Q1: How can I get a replacement Owner’s Manual for my Yamaha?
Owner manuals for current Yamaha models can normally be ordered through a Yamaha dealer (please remember to have details of your outboard's serial number available so that they may be able to identify the correct manual).

Q3: What fuel should I use in my Yamaha outboard?
All Yamaha outboards produced since 1970 were designed to operate on regular unleaded petrol.

Q4: How do I get a Declaration of Conformity for my Yamaha outboard?
There is an E.C. Declaration of Conformity for a Yamaha Outboard, supplied along with the Owner’s/Operator’s Manual with all new outboards.

Q6: What is the warranty period for Yamaha Outboards?
For private/domestic use Yamaha Outboards come with a two year warranty.
For engines used on a commercial, business or hire basis the period is one year.

Q7: Do I have to take my Yamaha product back to the selling dealer for warranty repairs?
No - although perhaps advisable, any authorised Yamaha dealer for that particular model, is able to carry out warranty repairs.

Q8: Is it possible to extend the factory supplied warranty on a Yamaha product?
The duration of the warranty is fixed and we regret that no extension is currently available.

Q11: How do I make a warranty claim?
If you experience a problem with your Yamaha Outboard which you believe should be dealt with under the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty, please promptly contact your Yamaha dealer to arrange for the Outboard to be inspected and any claim assessed.

All claims under warranty must be submitted on your behalf through an authorised Yamaha dealer. We regret that we are unable to accept warranty claims directly from owners.

Q12: What are the service intervals for Yamaha Outboards?
The current service intervals are as follows:
First Service - 10 hours

Then - initial 50 hours or 3 months (whichever is soonest)

Thereafter - every 100 hours or 6 months (whichever is soonest)

And - every 200 hours or 12 months (whichever is soonest)

The frequency of maintenance operations may be adjusted according to the operating conditions.

Note: When operating in salt water, turbid or muddy water, the engine should be flushed with clean water after each use.
