Yamaha’s High Pressure Direct Injection (HPDI) system is a quantum leap ahead of conventional injection technologies. The secret? Yamaha engineers devised a way of atomising the fuel under enormous pressure, creating a fine, fuel-laden mist inside the combustion chamber rather than the relatively coarse droplets found in conventional engine designs. The result is more power, lower fuel consumption, and lower emissions.

And there’s more: Six sophisticated sensors and a microcomputer Engine Control Module (ECM) adjust ignition timing, air/fuel mix and other vital settings on the fly.
